Tecnosky Precision 2" V2 high precision focuser

High-precision CNC focuser with drawtube supported by 6 bearings at 120°, completely free of play even at full extension.

This focuser represents a significant evolution over traditional models, thanks to a design created entirely with high-precision CNC machines and the use of sealed ball bearings.
Unlike classic Crayford or rack-and-pinion focusers, which rely on only four support points, this model uses a superior mechanical system: the drawtube is supported by six bearings arranged at 120°, which slide inside a specially milled grooved guide.

This configuration allows the drawtube to maintain absolute rigidity and total absence of play, even when fully extended. This is an essential feature for modern deep-sky photography, where every micron of flex can compromise critical point stars and backfocus.

Movement is provided by a fine-toothed bronze rack, combined with a pinion mounted on two high-load bearings. The result is a smooth, controlled, and perfectly linear stroke, with no “jerks” or flexing under heavy loads.
The two main knurled knobs ensure smooth adjustment, while the third, smaller knob allows for 1:10 micrometric focusing, which is essential for high-resolution cameras and large-format sensors.

There are two adjustments on the body: the lower bronze knob, which increases the pressure between the pinion and rack to support heavy configurations, and the side lever that allows the axis to be locked completely, useful in photography or during accidental rotations of the setup.

The new version of the focuser also features an even more robust and precise monoblock body, combined with a redesigned 6-bearing system to ensure better load management and impeccable drawtube orthogonality.

On the accessories side, the 2" attachment with brass clamping ring and three knobs ensures perfectly centered and secure locking. Unscrewing it gives access to the M57x0.75 thread, compatible with optional M48 and M42 adapters and fittings, making the focuser extremely versatile.

Towards the telescope, the 77.9 mm conical mount ensures perfect centering and extremely high rigidity, making it fully compatible with GSO 2" Newtonian focuser bases.
Dedicated flanges are also available for installation on GSO RC, Skywatcher refractors, SCT tubes, and numerous other instruments, expanding the upgrade possibilities for a wide range of telescopes.
