Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 114 Newtonian Reflector Telescope
The new Celestron StarSense Explorer telescope series represents a completely new way to observe the night sky. A true revolution that now becomes part of the Celestron product catalog.
Until now, our catalog included two main types of altazimuth instruments: manual and computerized NexStar+. With the StarSense Explorer series, we have reinvented the way amateur astronomy is practiced.
Introducing StarSense Explorer DX
Forget complicated star charts, inaccurate planetarium apps, and expensive computerized mounts. With Celestron StarSense Explorer telescopes, locating celestial objects has never been so simple and fast.
Place your smartphone in the dedicated dock on the mount and launch the StarSense Explorer app. Once the smartphone is aligned with the telescope’s optics—a process that takes only a couple of minutes—you’ll have the wonders of the night sky ready to explore.
Select the desired object from those visible in the app, then simply follow the on-screen arrows by moving the telescope until you center the target—whether it’s the Moon, a planet, a galaxy, or a nebula.
The StarSense Explorer app allows you to choose objects from a list of those currently visible. It will then guide you in the correct direction, zooming in progressively until you reach the target. Once centered, just look through the eyepiece and enjoy the view.
Unlike any other system currently on the market—including astronomy apps—the patented StarSense Explorer system AUTOMATICALLY RECOGNIZES, using the brightest stars, THE EXACT POSITION OF THE TELESCOPE IN THE SKY.
How does object locating work?
• Choose the object you want to observe from the list provided by the StarSense Explorer app.
• The app will show you the direction in which to start moving the telescope manually.
• Move the telescope following the on-screen instructions.
• Object centered. You’re ready to observe.
Celestron StarSense Explorer is compatible with most smartphones on the market. Discover the complete list of compatible iOS and Android smartphones.
Simply follow the directions on your smartphone screen for exciting views of the most beautiful celestial objects in the night sky. Even from urban skies, thanks to the generous telescope aperture, you can observe many spectacular targets—including the planets and the Moon, the Andromeda Galaxy, the Orion Nebula, and many star clusters visible from Earth.
The package includes the mount and adjustable tripod with accessory tray, optical tube, two eyepieces, a red dot finder, and an erect image diagonal.
