Celestron NexStar 8 SE Limited Edition Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope
Inspired by one of the most breathtaking nebulae in the sky, the Horsehead Nebula, the NexStar 8SE Limited Edition combines Celestron’s generous 8” Schmidt-Cassegrain optics with a collector’s-grade design. Equipped with the tried-and-true SkyAlign pointing technology and a complete set of accessories, only 500 units were produced worldwide, transforming the telescope into more than just a companion for stargazing: it’s an object to be experienced and admired.
Celestron Nexstar 8SE Limited Edition: Don’t just observe the universe, take it with you.
The Celestron NexStar SE series of computer-controlled telescopes is the perfect blend of Celestron’s tradition of excellent XLT-coated optics and the convenience and high technology of the NexStar SE single-arm mounts, featuring automatic pointing, a control panel with updatable NexStar firmware, the SkyAlign™ alignment system, and much more. The NexStar SE single-arm mounts feature a universal dovetail mounting platform and can therefore be used with other optical systems.
Nexstar SE telescopes are portable instruments with highly advanced features. They allow for precision alignment in just a few minutes using SkyAlign technology, which involves pointing at three “random” bright stars and letting the Nexstar computer do the rest. The SkyAlign feature does not require the user to be familiar with the night sky.
It includes a 220V AC power supply and a battery compartment (for 8 AA batteries, not included), a web-updatable NexStar control panel with the SkyAlign easy-alignment feature, and a database of over 40,000 celestial objects.
The NexStar 8SE is a powerful telescope with top-quality Schmidt-Cassegrain optics, suitable primarily for visual observation of both terrestrial and astronomical subjects, but it also allows for photography with DSLR, mirrorless, or compact cameras, as well as video recording with a webcam.
