The Takahashi has recently introduced this astrograph with incredible speed camera to meet the demands of today's large sensors, including DSLRs, as well as camcorders deep sky.
L ' Epsilon 180 has a diameter of 180mm with a focal length of only 500mm and f / 2.8. The series of telescopes Epsilon are astrographs hyperbolic photo / visual field perfectly paved and lighted.
The high speed camera enables shooting faint nebulae invisible instruments slower and makes it perfect for observing comets and galaxies. The very short exposure times also reduce tracking errors and allow to get more stars point: the Epsilon 180 produces stars from 10μ on any field paved.

Both the photograph or the visual field are perfectly leveled at f / 2.8, which makes it ideal for shooting comets and clusters of galaxies. Thanks to two corrector ED lens chromatic aberration is reduced to minimum and is below that of a Schmidt Camera.
The great rotation dial located on the focuser allows the entire focuser and the photographic system to rotate in any position so as to frame the field as desired. The corrector ED is integrated into the focuser which is also equipped with a type filettutura M54x0.75mm for direct connection of CCD cameras. The extraction of heat from the end of the focuser is 56mm, which is the standard for film cameras and digital. So a camera Canon EOS can be mounted directly on the focuser through a Wide T-ring Takahashi.
The secondary mirror measuring 80mm minor axis and its support has three screws for collimation more a central screw for block and the adjustment in rotation and depth.
Near the focuser is an accessories plate where you can place the seeker with standard support (optional one quick release) while another is located close to the cell of the primary.
The primary mirror is oversized 190mm to assure perfect optical quality in the field of 180mm available. The cell of the primary has three collimation screws double-action, three screws with lock nut for adjusting the pressure on the primary side to minimize the effects of seasonal temperature variations and mask ventilation.

Regarding the purely photographic features, the Epsilon 180 has an image circle of 44mm (60% not vignettato), which means that the entire diagonal of 35mm is covered. Digital cameras have sensors with dimensions equal to 2/3 (APS) on a 35mm camera, will have a field free of vignetting virtually 100%.
At the 500mm focal length of the image scale is 2.7 seconds d 'arc per pixel, for a CCD with pixels from 6.5μ.
